Side Stuff - Cartography

I broke out of my comfort zone a bit today, creating a map for a Dungeons and Dragons campaign I run. Cartography has always been an interest of mine, something I've never really done but always looked at with fascination. It was nice doing something quite different from what I usually do, map making seems to take far different skills from what I'm used to.

The country of Dziwamba is set high in the clouds, in an advanced civilisation atop verdant mountain peaks.

Side Stuff - 3D Turret

Here's just a little 3D model of a gun turret I made after a request from a friend, it was actually nice being able to flex my abilties again since I haven't touched Maya in a little while. He basically just wanted my opinion on how I'd handle the task he'd been set, so it was kind of like being in University again, except without the terrifying deadline stress.

I fiddled around with the toon shaders and I think it turned out pretty well.

Side Stuff - AutoCad

I spent a little time recently attempting to learn AutoCAD for my mother, apparently flatpack christmas trees are a thing now. An expensive thing. So I was 'commisioned' (paid in board and lodgings) to design a simple wooden christmas tree in a program I'd never experienced with a deadline of two days (later extended to a week). Needless to say the project was a disaster.

It's a tree. Well, half a tree.
